GIRLS WINTER ELITE 24/24

This is long overdue…. It is about time we give our Girl Ballers a place to shine!!

This season we are beyond excited to officially launch our first ever Girls Elite League. A chance for our top girl ballers to compete every week against each other and take their skills to the next level!

Elite is “more serious” than our traditional rec. football. We have concentrated practices, intricate schemes and - generally speaking - we ask A LOT more of the kids. “Elite” is a developmental eco-system for football die-hards and kids who dream of playing at the next level. Our dream is to make this the premier Flag Football League for highly-skilled Girls, and we believe we’re on that path.

We are committed to creating this type of environment for our Girls and this is how we take it to that next level.

WINTER QUICK HITTERS:

Age Groups: Middle School Girls (6th-8th Grade)

Team Locations: Bethesda/NW, Cap Hill and McLean

Game Location: Sunday Mornings @ Deal MS in NW DC 10:00 - 11:30.

Fall Season Duration: The second week of December through our final Sunday on February 16th

- Bethesda/NW:  Thursday 4:15 - 5:30 @ Deal MS in NW

- Cap Hill: Thursday 5:00 - 6:15 @ RFK Fields

- McLean:  Wednesday 5:00 - 6:15 @ McLean HS 

FAQs

My child loves football, but isn’t the best player on his team, is it worth trying out?

Absolutely. When we make the teams, we account for how hard the player will work in practice, how much a team player they’ll be, and how much they really want to be there.

How will the practices be different than our regular flag star team?

The practices will be run more like a “traditional” football practice. Teams will work on individual position work, learning plays, running plays against a “scout team” and of course, conditioning. Games will be played on Sundays.

Who are the coaches?

Each team will be assigned one of our best Flag Star coaches. All Elite coaches have serious football resumes and know how to craft an offense and a defense worthy of an Elite program. Practices will be fun, but require hard work and focus.

My child wants to play with his friends. Can I make sure they are on the same team?

Friend groups are welcome to try out for the same team, and if it is possible to accommodate we will, but there is no guarantee of playing together.

My kid wants to play, but is nervous about not knowing anyone on the team. Will she enjoy it?

Absolutely. Elite brings kids together who all love football and being part of a team. In the Winter, teams bonded quickly and many kids made new friends through the program. If you love football, this is the place for you.
